October Meeting ~ Honest and Fair

We earned our second petal!
Lupe the Lupine ~ Honest and Fair

Please click on the link below to hear Lupe's story:

The Daisies are doing wonderful at taking turns with our Kapers!
Pledge of Allegiance and the Girl Scout Promise.

Troop Leaders put on a "skit" showing how NOT to behave as a daisy...
The Daisies thought it was amusing seeing two adults whine, "That's not fair!".

We asked the girls to come up with better solutions to be Fair and Honest.
Everyone wanted to contribute!!! How wonderful. :)

The Daisies answered questions similar to:
    • What should we do when someone is being treated unfair?
    • How should you behave when you feel you have been treated unfair?
    • Why is it important to tell the truth?
    • How does it feel to be lied to?

Craft Time
We made yarn spiders.
Each table of five girls, was to divide the spider legs equally.
(All 20 Daisies shared one bottle of glue too!)

We have amazing, helpful Moms!! Thank you!!!

Daisy Island Game

The Daisies had a "Monster Mash" bash with this! They loved this game!

20 pieces of cloth were placed around the room.
They were varying sizes: washcloths, towels and a tablecloth.

The Daisies had to DANCE their way around the room. When the music stopped they had to find a piece of cloth to stand on. Sharing was encouraged!
Each time the music stopped more towels were removed.
At one point I think we had 4? girls on a washcloth ;)

Eventually, everyone finished on the tablecloth.
A very happy troop!

We fit a lot in that hour...attempted to sing a round, some of the girls visited the spooky basement and played on the playground before the meeting.
The evening ended with the friendship circle.

Thank you to the Mom's
who provided the delicious snack and drink!

A shout out to our troop photographer ~ without you this blog would not be possible!

Also, Thank you to all who were able to carpool!

Hayride Photos

Here are some photos from the night of the Girl Scout Mother/Daughter hayride.

A little more than half the troop was able to attend :)
It was the first time for many of us at this farm~
a beautiful location and we had such warm beautiful weather!

The Daisies had a great time together!

Several of us went for a second hayride after some hot chocolate and treats.

October Meeting and Save the Date

be sure to check back here for some activities that they can do to earn this patch ;)

REMINDERS FOR THURSDAY
  • Have your daughter wear her Daisy shirt to school that day if she can.
  • Parking space is limited so please plan on carpooling with a fellow Daisy if at all possible.
  • We need to register for the Winter Workout activity very soon. If your daughter is interested in going, please have her bring her $7 check to Thursday’s meeting. Checks should be made out to GS Troop #2150.

Save the Dates:

Tuesday, October 29th
5:15pm
Trick or Treating at Assisted Living
The girls can wear their costumes. What a great activity for both our daughters and the residents.

Thursday, December 12th
5:45pm
December Patch Meeting/Christmas Caroling at Assisted Living
We will be singing Christmas Carols (and depending on our November meeting...putting on a short play).
This will also be the opportunity for them to earn their yellow petal, which is Friendly and Helpful.

Sunday, January 5th
(Tentative ~ Afternoon)
Cookie Sales Meeting
We will hold a parent meeting the first week of January where our cookie parents (Tammy and Ann) will give us all that we need to successfully sell this year.  This meeting requires all girls to have a parent present, as a parent HAS to sign the appropriate paperwork.  If you are a two household family, both parents will need to be present if the child will be selling at both homes.

Hope to see everyone on Thursday!
