November Meeting ~ Considerate and Caring
We listened to a story about Zinni the Zinna. You can find the story here: Zinni the Zinna- The Art of Sharing
Then we practiced being caring and considerate by making Holiday Greeting Cards for the residents at the retirement home and for a group of military soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. The girls were required to share all of the art supplies and did an excellent job. Finally, we practiced a few songs that we will be singing when we deliver the cards next month.
If your daughter was unable to make the meeting, choose 3 of any of the following activities and turn in an "I earned my patch" sheet.
- Make 2 cards at home for the retirement home residents or the military personnel and bring them to the December meeting.
- Read the Zinni the Zinna story and discuss it with a parent or adult.
- Practice using "Please", "Thank You", "Good Morning" and "Good Night" and try doing it without being reminded of it.
- Help a sick or elderly neighbor/friend/grandparent by visiting them, helping bring their mail in, giving them a call to say hello, etc.
- Donate a food item to a food pantry or a toy to a toy drive.
- Help your parents or siblings with one of their chores, without being told to do so.
- Read a story to a younger sibling or friend
- Draw a picture of yourself helping someone else. Discuss with an adult what you drew and why.
Happy Thanksgiving!
